Andreina writes “My photographic work, and the themes that I develop, is always closely linked to my personal history. Since the age of 12, I have always wondered how to retain memories. So, I browsed through the photographs of Julia Margaret Cameron, Diane Arbus or Sandy Skoglund. They opened doors, unsuspected horizons for me.Through photography, I want to express the fragility of everyday life, of nature, of the little things that surround us, these details that can be part of our existence, like the leaf of a tree in a city park, a saw to cut iron, all those objects that can be understood as a metaphor for life, made an object. In my practice, I am also interested in transmutation, metamorphosis and change. For 15 years I have been working on the self-portrait. The idea of change in the image and how it shows internal, personal, subjective change, interests me.”
