The sea calls

Gorka Zabaleta hails from the Basque region of Spain. Woven into the fabric of everyday life of the Basque people are the moods and power of the sea. As with all sea-going people, the sea is both loved and feared. In his powerful painting we see the bones of a wrecked ship and fear that the bones of the sailors may lay close by.
