Necklace inspired by Japanese tradition of chain mail

This mesmerising hand-made piece of jewellery was designed with the hexagonal 6-in-1 pattern. The finished shape is a triangle that hangs from a rigid textured collar that then turns into a chain. The way the mail hangs, not from the vertices but instead closer to the centre, gives it a unique lapped look and turns the triangular shape into an upside-down water droplet. The stone used in this design is an alluring Mexican Obsidian with a lustrous finish and its flawless reflection is enhanced by the intricate texture that the mail gives. Material: Silver 950. Stone: Obsidian. Techniques used: weaved Japanese 6-in-1 pattern chainmail. Hammered for texture.
