Rafael exhibited in Encounters in 2012. He was born in Caracas in 1977 and is a Sociology major from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and a laureate from a Postgraduate course in Art History and Theory at Universidad Central de Venezuela. As a photographer his learning has come from a mixture of the finest Photography workshops in Venezuela (Escuela de Arte Federico Brandt, Taller de Fotografía Roberto Mata, Organización Nelson Garrido) and The University of Brighton in U.K. He taught photography at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. His work is a reflection on the space as a cultural product and about archives as spaces for historical research.
